Casablanca

Casablanca is the cosmopolitan, industrial, and economic heart of Morocco, as well as its largest city with about 4 million inhabitants. Though not as atmospheric as other cities in the country, Casablanca is the better representation of modern Morocco. With a small median and a busy ville novelle, travelers may not be tempted to stay but the spectacular Hassan II Mosque and nightlife scene are worth hanging around for at least a day and night. Although Casablanca's long history dates back to the 10th century, visitors today will mostly find Morocco's most liberal and progressive city.
